New Pokemon ROM Hack?

Yep, I am developing a new Pokemon ROM hack. I need some ideas. One of them could be...
Professor Oak going insane, trying to steal Red's place as champion as he becomes jealous.. He than "modifies" Pokemon to make them extremely powerful. I will attach an example.
Anyways, tell me if you think this is incredibly stupid, or if you like it. Leave some ideas below, and if I share a patch for the rom, I will give you credit if you helped inspire it.

Interesting idea. Maybe professor oak goes mad and starts some evil cult or something in a kanto. And you have to defeat them. It would be cool. Many rom hacks have done this before, like a goofy story! Can't wait to hear more ideas!

What if the leaders get shuffled around?

Sly's idea sounds good especially if you can do a good story for it.

Is that sandslash a modified but bug pokemon because those eyes make it look bug like so that's a cool idea if you do that.

If you want to do Professor Oak going insane, you need to have a really compelling reason why he would or else players of your game will be like "well this is random." You could do dragon's idea of shuffling the leaders or doing your own custom set of leaders.

Truth be told, I'd have a hard time buying that as a part of the story. Having an "evil Professor Oak" sounds like it's something that many people have done/will do. It's just one of those things that I don't think would work, regardless of how well done it is.

I have to agree with above. Maybe go with a rpg feel but with a pokemon touch to it?
