Welcome to my page of Pokémon Ominous. A Pokémon fan game created in RPG Maker XP with Pokémon Essentials. Pokémon Ominous is a very story heavy game with a bit of a different approach than regular Pokémon games.

- STORY:
- Pokémon Ominous gives the player the option to play two entirely different stories.
Depending on the choice you make a lot of events, trainers and Pokémon that you'll face will change.
The story takes place in the Vereo Region. A group of islands to the south of the Sinnoh Region. The player will have to overcome many tough challenges in order to achieve his goal. A simple, but important objective you bestow upon yourself, eventually becomes a fight for survival. More information about the two stories to be revealed soon!
- CHARACTERS:
Kame
This young man is the male protagonist of story 1. He just graduated and can't wait to receive his first true Pokémon from the Professor that moved to his hometown. Though this trainer is naturally kind to others, things are bound to change. If you choose the female character, Kame will have a different role in the story.
Rosalie
This young lady is the female protagonist of story 1. She just graduated and can't wait to receive her first true Pokémon from the Professor that moved to her hometown. Though this trainer is naturally kind to others, things are bound to change. If you choose the male character, Rosalie will have a different role in the story.

- FEATURES:
Returning Features/Enhanced Features
* Equal Gymbattles
Gymbattles are differently handled in the Vereo Region than in other Regions.
The number of Pokémon the gym leader uses depends on the number of Pokémon you bring to battle this person with. This means you need to be well prepared in order to win!
* Mega Evolution
Mega Evolution is a returning feature in this game. New Mega Pokémon have been discovered in this region, though some of these Mega Pokémon have different ways to Mega Evolve.
* New Pokémon (fan made)
Never before seen Pokémon have been spotted in the Vereo Region. These Pokémon aren't Vereo native. Where these Pokémon originated from is a mystery. This is one of the topic's of Professor Maple's research.
* Pokémon following trainers
The trainer may choose wether or not the Pokémon needs to follow the player. This may enhance the bond between you and your Pokémon!
New Features
* Sidequests
The trainer will be able to accept sidequests to help people out. These sidequests are, as the name implies, completely optional, but they will add a lot to the overal gaming experience.
You'll be able to find many different items, additional story-related events and even rare pokémon!
* Hacking
At a certain point during your adventure you'll be given a hacking tool to crack codes with. This may open paths that would otherwise be unaccesible to the player or lead to very special secrets.
* Multiple Savefiles
Pokémon Ominous gives the player the option to use multiple savefiles. You'll find this feature very handy, because the game has two different stories. If the player manages to complete both stories with both savefiles still intact, the player will receive a special reward. Better than a rare item and even better than a rare pokémon!
* Pokémon Exploration
In addition to walking with your Pokémon you'll be able to let a pokémon do the exploring for you! This is necessary to solve puzzles or get through certain area's. But be careful! This means you and your Pokémon are separated! If your Pokémon enters trouble, it's on it's own!
* Pokémon Overworld skills
Rather than using HM's to get through certain obstacles in the game, Many Pokémon will be able to perform overworld skill actions. Need to surf? No HM Needed! Need to fly? No HM Needed! Etc.

Hey, this looks pretty good. I think this might be the best fan-game here! I'm looking forward to playing it!

This looks like an interesting concept and has some nice features. My only criticism is the player characters look like they belong in a kids show. I'm used to trainers looking more serious or prepared.

Hmm. You know, I've had many people give feedback on the characters, but I've never heard this before. haha.
Do you mean the overworld sprites or the in-battle sprites? 'cause there are actually a couple of things about the overworld sprites which I am going to change, i.e. the eyes.

I can't see the battle sprites because the images are too large, but I do mean the overworld sprites. I would also suggest changing the mouth.

Yeah, they're kinda big, my bad. If you hold Ctrl and then scroll with your mouse (or use it together with shift and - or +) you'll be able to zoom in or out on this page, which should allow you to see the characters.
And yeah, the overall expression on the faces needs some changing. Don't worry. Changes are being made as we speak.

I can't see the images currently. I tried to edit the thread my self (since I am the guy who made this forum) But does tiny pic do full on hosting? Because I just don't see any images. Also I would love to hear something about the story!

I made the character screenshots smaller in Tiny Pic. Hopefully y'all will now be able to see them. And @Slyarch you don't see any images? I'm able to see everything perfectly fine?!
The story is a bit complex to tell in short. I'll be sure to some it up in a not too spoilery way soon. First I want to think about how I want to tell the story, without spoiling to much!
For now I'll tell you that the black jewel which can bee seen in the title screen plays an important role in the game. Especially in the story where these to characters (Kame and Rosalie) can be played.

EDIT: From time to time old screenshots will be replaced with new (better) ones, to keep up to date with the changes of the game. From now on the screenshots will be smaller, 'cause I've come to learn that the larger screenshots may be more difficult to fully see on everybody's PC screen. If there's still old (big) screenshots in the screenshot section, know these will probabably change within the next few days.
